A Windows application, Computer Weather Exchange, Compuwx, is now available for testing and initial use. This application is constantly under development. The version available at the time of this documentation does not have all of the features that exist in the L'Softworks Limited LWEATHER and DAILY applications. It serves as an installation base for Windows systems. The current DOS Prompt applications can be run from ICONS created in the Compuwx Program Group or from a Program Runner option within the Compuwx application. Contact L'Softworks Limited to order the Compuwx Application along with the DOS Prompt programs that currently exist.
LWEATHER provides you with weather database management using two unique data sets. A historical database for keeping track of the all time records for each day of the year. Also, a station log data set which you add to and keep your records current. Printing and reporting utilities assist you in exchanging your data with others and keeping a printed log.
The DAILY database application keeps standard daily maximum and minimum temperatures along with the precipitation and snowfall for each day. With this application, you can keep and entire period of record for a station at your finger tips for instant recall of what happened on this day. Additional reporting features allow you to study the climatology and annual summary for any month or year.
The ALMANAC application is your time keeper for astronomical events for any day. Also, with the addition of your monthly temperature data, the ALMANAC presents you with a summary of the expected temperatures for any date you select. Keep track of the sunrise and sunset along with the moonrise and moonset, and watch for the planets with the helpful time schedule in the ALMANAC.
Here is your starting point to becoming the local weather forecasting expert in your area. You enter the local weather conditions at your point of observation and receive a forecast of temperatures and weather events for the next 24 hours. Also included is a weather data records keeping feature where you can record your station's weather. In addition, the FORECAST application includes a handy weather calculations feature.
